Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 vs Galaxy Ace plus S7500

Samsung has refreshed its one of the most popular smartphone Galaxy Ace S5830 with the announcement of releasing Galaxy Ace Plus S7500. The elder brother sold over millions of pieces world wide, now its time to figure out what this new kid in town has to offer. The galaxy ace wasn't a high end Smartphone but the good build quality and features made it one of the top selling models in the galaxy series.

The new phone galaxy ace plus is likely to be come India by march 2012 with a reasonable price of around Rs.15000. Let's move on to the comparison between the two mobiles based on the specification of each.

Form Factor: The Ace plus is of 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.2 mm in size where galaxy ace is is 112.4 x 59.9 x 11.5 mm. The Ace plus is 2 g heavier than galaxy ace.(Ace -113 g, Ace plus - 115 g). there are two capacitive touch buttons on the bottom like ace and center physical button.
Screen Size:  The successor comes with a sligtly bigger screen of 3.65 inches where galaxy ace got a 3.5 inch screen

Display: The specifications shows the Ace plus  has bigger display with TFT capacitive touchscreen and 16M colors but slightly less pixel density.( Ace plus :58 ppi pixel density, Ace: 165 ppi pixel density). Both phone's have a decent screen resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.

Camera: the camera department on both phone's comes with no changes as we can take images on Ace as well as ace plus in at a maximum resolution of  2592×1944 pixels. Both phone's cant shoot videos in HD 480p and both lacks a front camera. It doesn't seems to have a dedicated camera shutter button also.

Processor: Ace plus got a 1GHz processor where galaxy ace has 800 MHz processor with Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset. This will help you to run applications very smoothly and you wont experience any lag while playing games.

Memory: Surprisingly, the Ace plus got 3GB of internal storage/phone memory which is more than a high end smartphone where in galaxy ace it was only 158 MB. This enables you to store all your apps inside phone memory which leads to better speed of execution and you no longer needs APPS2SD!. It has also micro SD memory card slot which can be expanded upto 32 GB. RAM size also got doubled for galaxy ace plus which has 512 MB RAM where ace has only 278 MB RAM.

Connectivity: All connectivity features of galaxy ace are copied to ace plus but the bluetooth version of ace plus is 3.0 where ace have only 2.1. Both phones have WiFi, GPS, 3G and similar connectivity features.

Android version: The Ace plus comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS from the factory itself where ace was on froyo android 2.2. But recently, the galaxy ace got an update to gingerbread.

User interface: Both phones having a smooth capacitive touch screens but, the successor got the TouchWiz 4.0 to provide better features, good looking Widgets.

Battery : Everything except battery is unacceptable about the ace plus which has been degraded to 1300 mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy Ace has a 1350 mAh battery. Normally a better processor and bigger display takes more power but it's very tough to understand why Samsung reduces the battery capacity of ace plus.

If you're looking to buy a mid range android smart-phone, the Samsung galaxy ace plus will be ideal for you if you wait till it reaches india. Compare yourself by looking into the specs of each.
