Eset NOD32 is one of the best antivirusprograms I've used. Eset smart security provides complete protection among threats while you browse, chat or transferring files from pen drives or cd. By default nod32 will check your system memory and programs for viruses. But some times this may take a long time to complete. Unfortunately you cant stop the scan once it has started but can be disabled so that it wont wake up next time.
Follow these steps to disable Eset smart security start-up scan temporarily.
Open the main program window by clicking the icon 
in the taskbar notification area. Click scheduler/Planner in the left pane. you will get a window like this:

Uncheck system start-up file check. Restart your computer. Your startup scan is now disabled.
