Samsung is now the Handset Leader in the World

As per the latest report from Strategy Analytics, Inc., a global research and consulting firm, Samsung ousts Nokia as the leader in selling most number of handsets in India. The domination of Nokia in the mobile handset market for over 14 years is came to to an end. According to their reports, Samsung sold over 935 lakh mobile handsets worldwide only in the first quarter of 2012 while Nokia are about 827 lakh . Out of this Samsung sold 445 lakh  smartphone. Samsung got their record profit $520 crore during this business period.

The Galaxy series smart phones are the best performed handsets among Samsung handsets. its clear that Samsung made its intention clear by producing low cost popular smart phones like Galaxy Y and POP. The Nokia windows hasn't made a significant movement in the smartphone market since they are still uncatchable for most of the people. The total market share for Samsung is now 30.6 percent as they've already chased out apple in smartphone market. the power of Samsung lies in the widest range of android smartphones. "In the meantime, prices of Android smartphones have dropped, and Nokia’s window of opportunity is almost closed"   said Ben Wood, head of research at CCS Insight.

An interesting fact is that the newest version of Samsung Galaxy S series (SIII) is about to launch in may 3rd. The galaxy S3 will be powered with a quad-core processor which is the only clue to its specification.
